形態特徵

Dioecious; glabrous throughout.
Leaves chartaceous to membranous, ovate-lanceolate to oblong-ovate, 7.5-10 cm long, 3.5-5.5 cm broad, the margins denticulate; petiole to 1.5-3 cm long
Tepals smaller outside and gradually larger inward, light orange to orange-red in stamniate flowers, green yellowish to yellow-orange in pistillate flowers; androecium subglobose, pink, stamens ca. 30, nearly sessile; gynoecium green.
Fruiting carpels ca. 30 per torus, these subglobose, dark red, ovoid, ca. 6 mm long; seeds 2, compressed, ovoid-reniform, 3-4 mm long, the testa rugulate.

台灣 : mainly distributed at medium and high altitudes (600-2,400 m).
